What is Cerec?

Cerec is a form of technology, which enables us to complete the entire crowning process in a single day. With Cerec, we are able to design, mill and fit a custom-designed crown on the same day, so you don’t have to wait around to enjoy the results of treatment. Cerec uses state of the art software to convert camera images of the tooth into 3D models and templates, which are sent to the on-site milling machine. The milling process takes a matter of seconds and once the new crown is ready, it can then be fitted.

What’s so good about Cerec?

There are so many benefits of having Cerec on-site. The time period for crown treatment is vastly reduced, from 2 weeks to a single treatment session, there is no need for a temporary crown and patients spend much less time in the dental chair, which is particularly advantageous for those who suffer from dental anxiety. There is also the added convenience of only needing to arrange a single appointment and patients don’t have to put up with uncomfortable process of creating putty moulds, as Cerec uses images, rather than impressions.

Cerec also enables our dentists to have more influence in the treatment process, which is very quick and accurate.
