Why dental implants beat standard dentures for replacing all your teeth

Dental implants are the best long-term solution to tooth loss, whether you are missing one, some, or all of your natural teeth. Dublin 18 Dental Rooms offers a number of options for implant treatment, including ways to beat the common problems caused by badly-fitting dentures.

replace-missing-teethWhen you start to lose your natural teeth, your confidence swiftly goes with them. Should one lost teeth become several or even all of your natural teeth missing, you will face a severely restricted diet and problems with speaking clearly.

Standard dentures are a very common solution that will help with all of these problems, but to fully solve them you need dental implants. Only implants, after all, provide the stability, security, and realistic action of a second set of functional adult teeth.

At our Dublin Dental Room we can stabilise your wayward dentures by using dental implants. For this procedure a series of implants (usually between two and six, depending on your clinical situation and need) are placed in direct contact with your jaw bone, where they will instantly start to integrate.

This integration process takes a few months to fully complete, and your Dublin dentist may adjust your existing dentures in order for you to keep wearing them whilst healing and integration takes place. You should avoid using them for the first few days after your implant surgery, until any swelling or bruising has gone down.

Once your dental implants have fully integrated with your jaw bone, your Dublin dentist will attach your new dentures to abutments on top of your implants.

You will notice the difference immediately, being able to eat whatever you like with no more restrictions, having the ability to speak clearly once more, and having a new smile full of teeth that are so realistic few people will realise they are not the real thing. The chances are, you won’t be able to stop smiling and showing them off when you leave our Dublin Dental Room.

With a success rate of more than 90%, dental implants are a highly effective solution to tooth loss. As long as you take care of them, you’ll have them for life.
