We at Dublin18 Dental Care Welcome Dr Paul Hooi To Our Dental Team

Paul qualified from Trinity College Dublin with honours B.Dent.SC- he previously had an engineering background (M.Sc distinction computer aided mechanical engineering design) before pursuing his career in dentistry-.  He was involved in research and design in medical device product development.  Paul after qualifying undertook an associate position in a busy private practice, providing routine and advanced restorative dental care for his patients.

Paul being very self- motivated and caring by nature travelled to Belarus in 2010- a voluntary self- funded trip with the Chernobyl Aid Ireland to provide essential dental care to residents at the orphagne in Grozova , Belarus.

Paul  is very pro- active in maintaining a personal commitment to continuous professional development, regularly attending conferences locally and internationally.  He currently teaches in the Dublin Dental Hospital on a part time basis.  He is also currently carrying out post- doctoral re- search on a part time basis.

Paul is very experienced in providing routine and aesthetic dental care, non- surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, molar rotary and reciprocation endodontics, all ceramic veneers, inlays, onlays, crown and bridge, implant restoration and inman aligner orthodontics.  Paul also provides minor oral surgery treatments.

Paul received a dissertation in the Dublin Dental university and Hospital Trinity in 2009 on  ‘What are the issues for oral health of the increasing number of Children with Autism spectrum disorders.  His friendly and impressionable manner makes him a firm favourite with children at our practice.  He makes their visits enjoyable and they look forward to coming back to us for their next appointment.

Paul also has a keen interest in treating nervous patients and he understands what a daunting experience a visit to the dentist can be for many. He puts his patients at ease from his first point of contact and helps alleviate those fears.  He provides a service of offering his patients treatments under oral sedation to help make dental treatments easier for those who are nervous.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Dr Kevin Murphy to Dublin18 Dental Care for patients of Monkstown and the surrounding area. Kevin joins us with a wealth of experience in Orthodontics, implants, crowns and all aspects of cosmetic dentistry and is a hugely versatile dentist with a wide variety of interests and an impressive array of skills.

About Dr Kevin Murphy

Kevin graduated from Trinity and has since gained valuable experience and additional qualifications in a number of areas of dentistry. Kevin is currently working towards a postgraduate qualification in Implantology, he is an approved provider of Six Month Smiles and Invisalign, two of the most popular modern orthodontic treatment methods and he has expertise in cosmetic and general dentistry.

During his career, Kevin has travelled to many countries to gain an insight into different areas of dentistry and dental techniques and he has trained under some of the world’s leading mentors.

Kevin is not just an experienced professional, he is also a highly respected and admired dentist; he has a large following and has established a reputation for being friendly and approachable, which makes him an instant hit with children and adults alike.

Kevin has advanced training in IV sedation and is able to treat nervous patients using this highly effective technique.
