Braces no longer need to be made from obvious metal

When you hear “braces” do you picture obvious metal “train-track” appliances? You are not alone; this is still what many people equate with orthodontic treatment. However, at our Dublin Dental Room we offer a number of more discreet solutions, designed to straighten your teeth without you having to endure a mouth full of metal for months on end.

We use both discreet braces and clear, removable aligners at our Dublin Dental Room to straighten patients’ teeth. The best option for you will depend upon a number of factors, including the type and amount of correction required, your lifestyle, and your own personal preference.

Braces

At our Dublin centre, we offer treatment with Six Month Smiles cosmetic braces, which are ideal for mild to moderate correction involving the front teeth – those that show when you smile.

As the name indicates, average treatment time with these braces is just six months. Some cases are complete in half that time, where correction is very mild, and most patients complete treatment within a nine month time frame.

Comprising tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires and clear ceramic brackets, Six Month Smiles blend in to the natural colour of your teeth far better than metal appliances do.

Invisalign

Invisalign is an alternative to braces; a system of clear, removable aligners, this treatment is practically invisible to the untrained eye. Your dentist will prescribe you the required number of aligners, and you need to change them every fortnight as your teeth move position. Invisalign can be removed for short periods for eating, brushing your teeth, and cleaning. They should be worn for at least 22 hours a day.

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner is a single-use removable device that is designed to correct protrusion issues with the front teeth, as well as cases of adult relapse. So long as you wear it most of the time, treatment should take just a few weeks.
